Delete your data
You can delete your ClueLink player and everything stored about it at any time, yourself, in a few seconds. This works the same on the website and in the ClueLink app for Android.
Delete it in the game
- Open ClueLink (the website or the Android app) and tap your name on the home screen to open your Profile.
- Scroll down to Delete my data and tap the button.
- Confirm with Yes, delete everything.
Your data is deleted from our server immediately, and from the device you used. The game then starts fresh, as on a first visit.
Without access to the game
If you no longer have the device (for example a lost phone), write to hello@cluelink.org with your nickname and, if you have it, your recovery code. We delete the data within 30 days and confirm by email. We use your email address only to answer you.
What is deleted
- Your nickname (it becomes free for others), your player id and the keys of every device signed in with it; your recovery code stops working.
- All your scores, stars, level progress, daily puzzle results and streaks, and your online game results. You disappear from all leaderboards.
- On the device you delete from: your progress, statistics, badges, a game in progress and your ad choices. Your settings (language, theme, sound) stay.
What is kept
- Anonymous puzzle statistics (which puzzle, solved or not, tiles, hints, time). They never contained your player id, nickname, country or IP address, so they cannot be linked to you.
- Online rooms you played in keep your nickname in their game state until the room is removed, at most 7 days after it closes.
- Copies in our database provider's backups disappear as those backups are replaced by newer ones.
Ads in the Android app
Unity Ads, which shows the ads in the app, does not get your nickname or scores. To remove what Unity links to your device, reset your advertising ID in Android's settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads or Google → Ads), or ask Unity directly as described in its privacy policy.
